Joseph Tenbusch
grew up on the West Side of Detroit and graduated from the University of Michigan and Harvard University. He started teaching at Noble in 2000 and graduated his first Advisory in 2004. In 2006, he was promoted to Assistant Principal of Noble Street Charter High School and then became principal of Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy in 2007.
Mr. Tenbusch enjoys playing sports and coaching. Over 17 years, he played rugby for Harvard, Detroit RFC, and the Chicago Griffins. During this time, he founded the Noble’s boys’ rugby team and Noble’s girls’ team which was the first girls’ high school team in the state of Illinois. When Mr. Tenbusch transferred to Rowe-Clark, he started rugby teams for both the boys and the girls and created the Noble Rugby Union that consists of Noble campus teams from Johnson College Prep, Muchin College Prep, Noble College Prep, Pritzker College Prep, Rauner College Prep, and Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy. Additionally, Mr. Tenbusch is an assistant coach on the Rowe-Clark girls’ soccer team. He also is the head coach of the Winter Warrior Olympic Training Program. After school, he plays defense and the left wing for the Noble Sabre Cat Hockey Team. On the weekends, he enjoys adventure running and Bikram Yoga.
A joy of Mr. Tenbusch’s life is being a member of the team of teachers and administrators at Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy. He considers himself a very fortunate person to be part of such a wonderful community of diligent and kind-hearted people.
